How to Disconnect Your Generator's Low-Oil Shutdown Sensor

The following video will teach you how to temporarily bypass your generator's low oil sensor by disconnecting it. Make sure your generator is off before starting the process, and never perform maintenance on a running generator. If the video doesn't show up, please click this link to view it.

Be sure to refer to your operator's manual for specific instructions for your generator. This guide should be used as a source for additional information; not as an alternative to the manual. If you have any additional questions, feel free to contact us.

NOTE: as of late 2024, the oil sensor wire may be black-and-white or gray, in order to comply with IEC standards. The rest of the instructions in the video below still apply.
